TVS
We Are Not an SEO Agency. Here Is What We Actually Are.
Most SEO companies buy tools, read reports, and write recommendations. TVS built its own audit platform, its own market intelligence system, and its clients' websites. The difference in results is not coincidental.
The question we get asked most often when a potential client is deciding whether to work with us is some version of: what makes you different from other SEO companies?
The honest answer is that we are not really an SEO company. We are a development company that understands search — and that difference, in practice, is the reason our results look the way they do.
What most SEO companies actually do
A typical SEO agency operates around a set of third-party tools. They subscribe to a rank tracker, a site auditor, a backlink analyser. They run reports. They identify issues. They write those issues into a document and deliver it to the client. Then they wait for the client’s developer — a separate person, at a separate company, billing separately — to implement the changes.
That gap between recommendation and implementation is where most SEO results go to die. A schema implementation that sits in a PDF for three months does not help anyone rank. A page speed issue flagged in an audit report and acknowledged but not acted on is the same as not knowing about it at all.
The report is not the result. The implementation is the result.
What TVS built instead
We did not start by buying subscriptions to other people’s tools. We started by building our own.
The TVS Audit Platform is the internal system that powers our client work. It is not a dashboard someone else built that we white-label. It is a platform we wrote, that runs our client intake, our lead management, our inquiry routing, our performance tracking, and our staff workflows. When a prospective client submits a contact form on a site we manage, that lead is captured, routed to the right recipient, and tracked — and we can see it, manage it, and report on it from one place. When a client’s staff member needs to update their settings or review their leads, they do it through a system we control, not a third-party platform we have no influence over.
The TVS Market Intelligence system tracks 249 business domains across 18 industries in KwaZulu-Natal, updated daily. It runs on infrastructure we built and configured — not a SaaS tool we logged into. It monitors search result positions, blog publishing activity, schema implementation, technical scores, and review prominence across the entire KZN local business market. The data in our market insights articles comes directly from this system. When we tell a client that their top competitor has no content strategy, we are not guessing — we have been watching that competitor’s website every day and we can show the data.
The True View Score — the composite metric we use to describe a business’s accumulated search authority across review prominence, content relevance, and technical quality — is our own framework, built around what the data actually shows separates the businesses that rank from the ones that do not.
A third project is a marketplace platform we designed and built for South Africa’s artisan food economy — connecting local makers with buyers in their area through a mobile-first app with vendor portals, category browsing, and a neighbourhood-based delivery system. Building a multi-sided marketplace from scratch — the consumer side, the vendor side, the logistics layer, the onboarding flow — is a different order of complexity from building a website. It is proof that the development capability at TVS is not limited to landing pages and blog templates.
A fourth is a catering business website we delivered using our own template system — a framework we built specifically so that business owners can update their own content without needing to call a developer every time they change a menu or an address. The site is built on a manifest-driven architecture where every editable field is identified, labelled, and accessible to the client. That is not a WordPress theme with a page builder. It is a structured system designed to make a client’s content independently maintainable without sacrificing performance or structure.
Signature Bathrooms is a live case study we are documenting in real time. The site launched with four schema types, a technical score of 13 out of 25 against a market average of 8, and a structured content plan. By day four of being indexed, it was already sitting at position 47 for a competitive commercial search term. We are publishing the data as it changes.
Why having a developer changes everything
An SEO agency without a developer can see what is wrong. They cannot fix it on the same day. They cannot build the thing that does not exist yet. They cannot write the code that implements the schema, restructures the URL hierarchy, builds the service pages, or deploys the content automatically.
When TVS identifies an opportunity — a schema type that none of the competitors in a market have implemented, a suburb-specific service page that would take the top position for a term nobody is optimising for — we implement it in the same conversation. The recommendation and the execution are the same team, on the same timeline, accountable for the same result.
That is how a brand-new home automation company went from no online presence to national position one in a competitive market in six weeks. It is not because we wrote a better report. It is because we built a better website, implemented it correctly the first time, and published content on a schedule that accumulated authority faster than competitors who had years of head start but no content strategy.
What this means if you are considering working with us
We are not the right fit for a business that wants to outsource SEO to a team that sends monthly reports. We are the right fit for a business that wants to understand exactly what is happening in their market, have the technical infrastructure built to compete in it, and see the results measured in the same place the work is being done.
The market intelligence data we publish is a fraction of what we see on a daily basis. If you want to know specifically where your business sits in your market — and what would actually need to change to move it — the conversation starts here.

Why the current search environment makes developer-first the only viable approach is at Why the Window for Fixing This Is Closing. TVS builds websites, proprietary business tools, and the market intelligence infrastructure to measure what works. We are based in KwaZulu-Natal and work with businesses that want to compete on data, not guesswork.
