The Systems We Built So We Could Do This Properly

Most digital agencies subscribe to other companies' tools and call it a service. TVS built its own. Five proprietary systems sit behind every piece of client work — not because building them was easy, but because buying them would have meant accepting somebody else's limitations.

There is a version of a digital agency that runs entirely on subscriptions. A rank tracking tool from one company. A site auditing tool from another. A reporting dashboard from a third. The agency pays the subscriptions, logs into the platforms, pulls the reports, and delivers the outputs to clients.

This model has a structural problem: the agency is permanently limited by what those tools can do. If the tool does not measure something, the agency cannot measure it. If the tool’s data is not specific to KwaZulu-Natal — and most tools’ data is not — the agency advises based on a market that does not exist. If the report does not connect to implementation, the recommendation sits in a document and nothing changes.

TVS chose a different starting point. Instead of subscribing to what already existed, we built what we needed.

The TVS Audit Platform

The audit platform is the operational core of TVS. It is not a dashboard we licensed. It is a system we wrote — the codebase is approximately twenty-five thousand lines of server-side JavaScript, handling everything from client intake to lead management to inquiry routing to performance tracking.

When a prospective client submits a contact form on a site TVS manages, that lead is captured, routed to the right recipient, and tracked in a system the client can access. When a client needs to review their analytics or update their account settings, they use a portal TVS controls entirely. When TVS runs a technical audit of a client’s website, the audit engine runs our own checks against our own criteria — not a white-labelled version of someone else’s methodology.

The platform also powers the content workflow that runs for retained clients: article briefing, generation, human review, approval, and publishing — coordinated in one system, tracked from brief to live.

Building and maintaining this infrastructure is not trivial. It is also what makes the service genuinely controllable. When something needs to change in how client data is handled, we change it ourselves, on our own timeline.

The TVS Market Intelligence System

The market intelligence system does one thing: it watches the KwaZulu-Natal search market every day.

Two hundred and forty-nine business domains across eighteen industries. Every day, the system records search positions, blog publishing activity, schema implementation, technical scores, and review prominence for every monitored business. The data accumulates into a longitudinal picture of the KZN digital market that no third-party tool offers — because no third-party tool was built to answer the questions that matter for KZN businesses specifically.

When TVS publishes a market analysis article describing which industries are underserved in local search, or how many businesses in a given category have no content strategy, or what schema types are being overlooked across an entire sector, that analysis comes directly from this system. It is not sourced from a global database that happens to include a few Durban results. It is drawn from a dataset built specifically for this market, on infrastructure built specifically for this purpose.

The system was built because advice without local data is guesswork wearing the clothes of expertise. The data makes the difference between telling a client their competitor “probably has a content strategy” and showing them exactly when their competitor last published, what they published, and what position they moved to as a result.

TKAD — True Knowledge Absorption and Distribution

TKAD is the methodology and software pipeline TVS built to solve a specific problem: how do you preserve the operational knowledge inside a business in a form that is useful, searchable, and accurate — rather than scattered across email threads, inside individual employees’ heads, or lost entirely when someone leaves?

The pipeline covers ingestion by source type, entity resolution, epistemic classification, provenance tracking, privacy transformation, semantic chunking, and retrieval. It is local-first by design — knowledge captured on behalf of a client lives on infrastructure the client controls, not in a third-party cloud service with opaque data handling.

The human-in-the-loop layer is what distinguishes TKAD from a generic AI extraction tool. The pipeline does not publish anything. It prepares — it extracts, classifies, and structures. A human with authority over the knowledge confirms what the system has captured before that knowledge enters the distribution layer. The system waits. It does not distribute because it can; it distributes only when a person who owns the knowledge confirms it is accurate, current, and appropriate to share.

The full technical architecture is documented separately. The summary is this: most businesses have significant knowledge that is not accessible to the people who need it — staff, customers, AI systems trying to understand the business. TKAD is the system for changing that.

The Business Visibility Check

The Visibility Check is a free tool available at trueviewsolutions.co.za/visibility-check. It takes a business’s website URL and returns a structured assessment across six categories: Google discoverability, Google Business Profile completeness, technical website quality, review and authority signals, AI-accessible structure, and whether AI systems are currently surfacing the business in generated responses.

The output is a scored report with specific, actionable findings — not a traffic light and a vague recommendation to “improve your online presence.”

Building the tool required writing the audit engine that underlies it: the crawler, the schema validator, the GBP completeness checker, the AI synthesis tester. It runs on the same infrastructure as the TVS audit platform. The tool is free to use because the visibility assessment is the most useful thing TVS can give a prospective client — it shows them specifically where they stand before any commercial conversation happens.

The Visibility Check is also a demonstration. It shows, before a client pays anything, what TVS can see about their digital presence. The quality of what the tool reveals is itself evidence of the depth of TVS’s understanding of search.

The Demo Hosting Infrastructure

Every TVS website build is delivered as a working demo before a client is asked to pay or sign anything. The demo is hosted on TVS’s own demo infrastructure at demo.trueviewsolutions.co.za, on a dedicated subdirectory for each client.

When a client receives a demo link, they are looking at a fully built, fully functional website — not a design mockup, not a Figma file, not a slideshow of what the site will look like. The site is coded, schema-marked, structured for search, and responsive. The client reviews real work.

Building and operating this infrastructure is an ongoing cost. TVS absorbs it because the alternative — presenting mockups and asking for a deposit before showing a client anything functional — is the model that has made the web design industry one of the most complained-about service sectors for small businesses. Paying for something you cannot yet see is a risk that falls entirely on the client. The demo-first model moves that risk to TVS, where it belongs.


These five systems — the audit platform, the market intelligence system, TKAD, the Visibility Check, and the demo hosting infrastructure — are not features listed on a services page. They are the actual infrastructure that makes the TVS service work at the level it works at.

Each one was built because the existing alternatives were not adequate for the specific work TVS needed to do. Each one represents an investment of engineering time that is not recovered from a single client project. Each one is the reason that TVS can make claims — position one in six weeks, position 6 in five days, Lighthouse 98 on launch day — that are verifiable, documented, and not dependent on a competitor’s tool being in a good mood.
