DG Technologies: The CCTV Opportunity Sitting in Their Own Search Console
DG Technologies' Search Console shows 'cctv installation' generating 345 impressions at position 22 with zero clicks — a large, untapped query for a service they already offer and already have content for.
The home automation breakthrough documented this week is not the only signal sitting in DG Technologies’ data. Their own Search Console export from 13 August shows a second, larger opportunity that has not been chased yet.
The number
The query “cctv installation” generated 345 impressions at an average position of 22.08 in DG’s Search Console window — by far the largest impression volume of any query in their account, ahead of their own brand name searches. It produced zero clicks.
For comparison, “home automation durban” — the query that just broke to position one — generated 60 impressions and 9 clicks in the same export. “cctv installation” is a broader, higher-volume term sitting nearly six times further down the results, with none of that volume converting yet.
This is not a cold start
DG already has content Google associates with this space. The same export shows individual clicks and impressions on “cctv installation costs,” “cctv design and installation,” “cctv installation durban” and “how much does cctv installation cost” — each a single click or a handful of impressions, but each confirming Google already understands DG as a business that does CCTV work, not just home automation.
What’s missing is the same thing that was missing from “home automation Durban” before the site was rebuilt around it: a single, well-structured page built specifically to answer “cctv installation” the way a homeowner or business actually searches for it, rather than the term being covered incidentally across several smaller pages.
Why this is worth naming now, not later
Position 22 with 345 impressions and zero clicks is a specific, measurable starting point — the same kind of starting point “home automation Durban” was at eight months ago, before the build documented in the case study series moved it from absent to position one. There is no guarantee this term moves the same way. There is a clear, dated baseline to measure it against if the work is done.
Data note: figures are from DG Technologies’ Search Console export dated 13 August 2026. This is the most recent DG-side export available and predates the home automation breakout documented in article 113 by ten days — a fresh export would be the natural next check.
